Passport Services and Requirements

Passport Renewal (After 5 years)
(Passport, which has not yet served the normal ten years lifespan):
- § Completion of the Passport Renewal Form (P.25);
- § Payment of £25 in Postal Order (Payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London)
- § Submission of the expired passport;
- § Application must be submitted in person or by post through special recorded delivery (including return postage);
- § (PAYMENT BY CASH OR CHEQUE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE).
Passport Reissue (After 10 years)
(Passport, which has already served the normal ten years lifespan):
- § Completion of the Passport Re-issue Form (Form C1);
- § Payment of £39 in Postal Order (Payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London)
- § 2 studio-taken passport photographs. ( One of which must be endorsed on the reverse side by the Recommender who must also be a Nigerian);
- § Application including the expired passport must be submitted in person or by post through special recorded delivery (including return postage);
- § (PAYMENT BY CHEQUE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE).
Dual Nationality
- § Completion of Form C1;
- § Two studio taken passport photographs, one to be endorsed on the reverse side by the Recommender who must be a Nigerian;
- § Original and copy of Long Birth Certificate;
- § Production of valid British passport (valid for at least six months), with photocopy of pages 1-5 and pages 32/33 if EU passport style;
- § Proof of parent's nationality;
- § Submission of Guarantor ( different from the Recommender) form who must be a Nigerian. The Guarantor must submit photocopy of the data pages of his/her valid Nigerian Passport;
- § If applicant is a Minor, letter of consent from parents and photocopy the data page of their valid Nigerian Passports. In case of single parenthood, show proof of sole legal custody.
- § Payment of £54 in Postal Orders (made payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London);
- § Application must be submitted in person or by post through special delivery (including return postage);
- § (PAYMENT BY CASH OR CHEQUE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE).
Replacement Of Lost Passports
- § Letter to the High Commissioner stating the circumstances of loss of passport;
- § Submission of one copy of form C1;
- § Submission of photocopy of the data page of Passport. One copy of Guarantor’s Form (P.21) duly Sworn before the Commissioner for Oaths at the Nigeria High Commission;
- § Submission of a Police Report clearly stating loss of the Nigerian Passport;
- § Submission of Birth Certificate or Sworn Declaration of Age duly signed by Commissioner for Oaths of Nigeria High Commission;
- § Submission of a Sworn Declaration of the loss of Passport signed by the Commissioner for Oaths of the Nigeria High Commission;
- § Submission of two studio-taken passport photographs (one of which must be endorsed on the reverse side by the Recommender who must also be a Nigerian);
- § Documentary proof of profession (Letter from Employer or P60);
- § Payment of £100.00 in Postal Order made payable to the Nigeria High Commission London; Do not pay until after a successful interview. Please submit your application and book for interview at the High Commission. Do not make any online payment yet, wait for an instruction from the immigration officer after the interview.
- § Production of proof of applicant’s residence status i.e. letter from the Home office showing evidence of stay in UK;
- § Proof of applicant Address in UK i.e. 2 utility bills (e.g. Gas, Electricity) or Bank Statement;
- § Letter from the academic institution (Students only).
NOTE:
- All applications for re-issue of lost passports must be submitted at the counter. Applicants would thereafter be required to submit themselves for personal interviews. This is however subject to satisfactory scrutiny of their submissions.
- The Guarantor must be a reputable Nigerian with good knowledge of the applicant
- All submissions must be made in duplicates
Endorsement of child on parent's passport (Old MRP only).
(Note that children can no longer be endorsed on the e-passports)
- Completion of Form C.A.F;
- Letter of consent from the father. In case of single parenthood, show proof of sole legal custody.
- Photocopies of the pages of father's passport showing identity and passport validity;
- Photocopies of the child's long Birth Certificate and its original;
- Two passport photographs;
- Production of mother's passport for the endorsement;
- Payment of £9 in Postal Order (made payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London) or by Credit/Debit;
- Postage services are not acceptable.
Issue of passport to a child of five years and above (First Issue)
- § Completion of Form C2 and a Data form;
- § Letter of consent from both parents. In case of single parenthood, show proof of single parenthood or sole legal custody.
- § Photocopies of the data page of a valid Nigerian Passport;
- § Photocopy of the child's long birth certificate;
- § Two studio-taken passport size photographs of the applicant;

Payment:
- For children whose names are previously endorsed on parent's passport, £39 in postal order( made payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London). OR
- For children whose names are not yet endorsed on the parent's passport, £54 in postal order (made payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London). AND
- Production of Guarantors Form (P. 21) sworn before the Commissioner of Oaths of the Nigeria High Commission;
- § Application must be submitted in person or by post through special delivery (including return postage).
Emergency Travel Certificates
As the name implies, Emergency Travel Certificate is issued for emergency purposes only, when and if the standard passport is lost. ETCs are issued to facilitate applicants immediate departure for Nigeria only.
- § Police Report stating the loss of a Nigerian Passport;
- § Passport photographs of the applicant;
- § Original and photocopy of the return ticket to Nigeria;
- § Payment of the fee of £33.00 in crossed Postal Order (made payable to the Nigeria High Commission);
- § Completion of application forms;
- § Submission of photocopies of data page of a valid Nigerian Passport of Guarantor or pages 32/33 if EU passport;
- § 2 Utility bills of the guarantor or the invitee;
- § Postage services are not acceptable.
NOTE: Fees are subject to changes.
Requirements for Change of name by Marriage
- A copy of the Marriage Certificate;
- Request of Change of name by the husband together with the photo-copies of the husband's Passport;
- Production of the Spouse's Passport;
- Letter of Consent from the applicant;
- Payment of £15.00 in postal order (made payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London) or by Credit/Debit Card.
